Power Supply question.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

So a few weeks ago, my PC's power supply died (or I assume it did. PC starts booting up then simply shuts down). Can' hurt changing the PSU anyway. I have another power supply at home, but it's only 485 watts, and my old one was 650. I was wondering if this power supply is too weak for my PC. Should I go out and buy a new one?

Specs: (Old PC, but I still love it)
AMD Phenom X4 965 Black
ATI Radeon HD 7870
16GB DDR3
1TB HDD (no SSD)

I forgot the motherboard make since I'm away from home right now, but hopefully that's enough to tell.

Thanks for the help.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
